Teen's death inside Pearland home being investigated as homicide

PEARLAND, TX

Pearland police say the victim has been identified as 16-year-old Dawson High School Student Arrijana Hill. They're treating her death as a homicide after they found her body inside of her home in a gated community in Pearland.

Police say at about 5pm Friday, a female resident in that home called 911 to report the death. Police spent at least five hours at the scene investigating throughout Friday evening.

They say no one is in custody. They would not say if a suspect is on the run, or that resident who called 911 is or is not responsible for the teen's death.

"It does not appear to be of natural causes, so we are performing a death investigation as is common in these scenarios," said Lt. Patrick Savage with the Pearland Police Department. "An autopsy has been ordered."

Security is tight at the Lakes at Country Place in Pearland. Hill's body will be going to the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office.
