Police released the sketch of a man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman early last month.

Authorities say the man sexually assaulted an 84-year-old woman on or about February 2 near Spring Woods High School in the Enchanted Forest neighborhood.

The woman told police she woke up to the man tapping her. Then, she says he choked her until she was unconscious and sexually assaulted her.

"I've updated my alarm system, I have security cameras. We're just very nervous about it, because things just don't happen like this in our neighborhood," neighbor Kay Easton said.

Pat Dobes lives just down the street. She's tried to warn other senior women who live in the neighborhood about the suspected rapist. Besides the composite sketch, there is little else to go on and that's made an already tense situation worse.

The victim's children moved their mother to a different home. She no longer lives on this street. But for neighbors like dobes who aren't going anywhere, they're getting prepared.

"I had my Marine neighbor check my two guns for me," Dobes said.
