Suspect nabbed after several robberies in north Houston

HOUSTON

It began at 11am Friday with a robbery on Lyons Avenue, followed by another on Lauder Road.

According to Houston police, a student was robbed of her backpack, hard drive and ring. The robber dropped the jewelry, so she got that back.

But a few minutes later, the suspect robbed two women in the Northline Mall parking lot. Each victim gave police a similar description of the man, and told them the car he was driving had paper plates.

A few minutes later, a patrol officer spotted the car and followed it to a home off Parker Road. The man was taken into custody

"We found some of personal items from the robberies on him and then we found some of the additional stuff in the car," said HPD patrol Sgt. C. Bean.

Police say the suspect was arrested without incident, but not before he said they had the wrong person.
