Family holds another vigil for women slain in Galveston County

HOUSTON

There were times the pain couldn't be put into words and tears just took over as they remembered the two victims.

Days have passed and while there is no break in the case, friends and relatives are trying to heal.

"You can't really put something like this into words," said James Cosby, one of the victim's father.

Twenty-four-year-olds Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson were found dead on Bolivar Peninsula last Friday.

Volunteers have helped to try to generate leads near the area where their bodies were found. Investigators are still searching for a man who matches this composite sketch of a person of interest along with their missing 2006 Kia Sorrento.

"Britney didn't deserve this she would help anybody. If she don't know you, she would have helped you. Her grandma was her life. Church, grandma and work," one vigil attendee said.

"We will miss them. The way they left this Earth is tragic, unfair," Cosby's aunt Ebony McDade said.

And those who knew them best are trying to lift up one another during this tough time of need.

Anyone with information about the murders or the stolen vehicle is asked to call the Galveston County Sheriff's Office tip line at 866-248-8477 or Galveston County Crime Stoppers at 409-763-8477.
