A robbery suspect is dead after his target turned the tables and shot him.

It happened around 11pm Saturday near the Chymistry Bar and Lounge on Almeda Genoa near Monarch in southwest Houston. Police say a man and his wife had pulled into a parking lot to go into the bar when they were confronted by the suspect who was armed with a pistol.

The man pulled out a gun of his own and fired. The suspect was killed. No one else was injured.

:This is definitely going to be a referral to a grand jury to determine if charges are going to be filed," said Travis Miller with HPD Homicide.

It's not clear if the intended victim has a concealed weapons license. A grand jury will decide whether or not charges will be filed in the case.
