Off-duty Missouri City officer opens fire on suspects

Authorities investigate a shooting scene involving an off-duty Missouri City officer.

A banquet hall in Missouri City turned into a crime scene overnight when an off-duty police officer shot at a group of suspects.

It happened at The Palms Banquet Hall on FM 1092. The Fort Bend Sheriff's Office says a Missouri City police officer was working a second job as a security guard there.

Four suspects entered the hall and made some type of threat, and it led to the officer discharging his weapon; he allegedly fired multiple shots.

The officer didn't actually shoot anyone.

The suspects fled in an vehicle.
