The Raleigh Police Department has charged a man in a bizarre assault that happened earlier this month.

ABC11 in Raleigh-Durham reports that a father had just picked up his daughter from the movies on February 8 at the Ridgewood Shopping Center in Raleigh when a man began ramming his car out of nowhere.

The father and his daughter were able to get out of the car and run to safety. Police ended up having to Taser the man to subdue him.

That man has been identified as 25-year-old Remy Gagnon of Raleigh. He was charged yesterday with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of assault on emergency personnel and one count of reckless driving.

If convicted, Gagnon could face up to 19 years in prison.
