New Jersey kindergarten teacher fighting for her job after reporting inappropriate student behavior

MULLICA TOWNSHIP, NJ

According to 6ABC Action News reports, Mullica Township teacher Kelly Mascio's kindergarten class was watching a movie when, according to paperwork filed with the state, two students went to the back of the room and entered the classroom bathroom where "they removed their clothes and touched each other's private parts."

Mascio reportedly found the students clothed and immediately reported it to her supervisors.

The school district suspended Mascio with pay on September 30. The board then moved to have her fired.

Parents, teachers and supporters are pressing the board to instead reinstate her.

The board has declined to comment on personal matters. A state arbitrator will decide her fate.
