Firefighter suffers minor injuries in southeast Houston house fire

HOUSTON

The fire erupted around 6:30pm at a home off Glenn Valley Drive and West Bell fort.

According to firefighters on scene, the roof collapsed during the blaze. We're told a firefighter was injured by loose debris and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. He's expected to return to duty by Friday.

Fire investigators tell us no one was home at the time. In fact, it may be a vacant home but neighbors say homeless people tend to gather here, especially during times like this afternoon's rain.

The cause of the fire still under investigation.
