Road rage incident involving off-duty officer lands man in jail

HOUSTON

Police say an off-duty HPD officer was in an unmarked vehicle Tuesday morning when he says another driver waved the magazine to an assault rifle at him. The officer followed the driver along the Southwest Freeway and called it in.

At some point, the officer says the driver waved a second gun magazine at him. The man was later pulled over on the Pierce elevated.

"He's denying the incident completely," said Sgt. J Pleasant with the Houston Police Department. "We found him and the gun, so there's an incident."

Police found the gun magazines in the man's car as well as an AR-15. He was arrested for a terroristic threat. It's unclear at this point if he had a permit for the guns.
