Tips lead deputies to find $90,000 worth of pot, and weapons in home

HOUSTON

An iWatchHarrisCounty tip led investigators to a house in the 17900 block of Glenledi Drive in northwest Harris County where drugs, weapons, and cash were found. One person was arrested.

On Monday, deputies arrived at the home after receiving several tips of possible drug activity. They noticed a strong odor of marijuana inside the home.

After a search warrant was obtained, deputies searched the residence and recovered the following: 18 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $90,000, a loaded AR-15 military type assault rifle, two loaded handguns, and two shotguns, and more than $13,000 in cash.

The homeowner, Esteban Martinez-Vadrar, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Because the home is less than 1,000 away from a private school, it's in a drug free zone. Due to that location and the deadly weapons, authorities say the charge is a felony.

Martinez-Vadrar is currently in the Harris County jail.
