Lawsuit aims to make trampoline parks safer

HOUSTON

Traci Menchaca says her then 16-year-old son Max suffered major brain injuries after falling through a hole in a trampoline. It happened at the Cosmic Jump in northwest Houston in June 2013. In the lawsuit, the family alleges the business either knew or should have known about the tear in the trampoline.

"We want people to know that these places that are opening up in our communities are not regulated," Menchaca said. "They are only as safe as they want to be."

The teen in this case is the son of one of our colleagues here at ABC13. So far there has been no response from Cosmic Jump.
