Port of Galveston Police Officer Jason Ener was arrested Thursday by the Galveston Police Department. He faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child.
Police say the warrants stemmed from the arrest of Dustin Day by the Conroe Police Department for online solicitation of a minor. Investigators in Conroe developed information during the case that they say implemented Ener and Day in the sexual assault of juveniles that were alleged to have occurred in Galveston. This information was relayed to the Galveston Police Department and a criminal investigation was immediately initiated.
Ener was arrested at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston and transported to the Galveston County Jail for booking. His bonds total $140,000.
Dustin Day is also wanted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child with a $150,000 bond. Day is currently in custody in Montgomery County on a separate offense. A hold has been placed on Day and he will be transported to Galveston upon release.
