Matt Peterson -- a teen in Arizona -- took to YouTube to ask her out, CNN reports.
The video went viral and got Miley's attention, and she even responded via Twitter. But it wasn't exactly what he was hoping her response would be. The singer declined the invite.
It wasn't all bad news for Matt, though. Miley asked him to her next show in Arizona.
CNN reports that Matt took the rejection in stride, saying just getting a response from her made it the best day of his entire life.
