It happened after 6:40pm at an apartment complex on Renwick and Bellaire.
When police arrived on the scene they found two male victims. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was shot in the neck and was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition. The men are believed to be related and in their 40s.
The brother of the dead victim told police he looked out the window and saw a man picking up casings and took the victim's cell phone.
