Detectives say a man is facing a murder charge after he allegedly shot and killed a man he'd just threatened with a sword moments before.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the shooting was a result of an argument between Mickey Johnston, 33, and 48-year-old Bruce Wagner at a Crosby home in the 13000 block of Bohemian Hall Road.

Detectives say at some point, Johnston swung a sword at Wagner. Wagner grabbed a handgun and ordered Johnston to drop his sword, and when Johnston ignored him, he fire a warning shot into the ground. That's when Johnston returned to his home, grabbed a shotgun and opened fire.

Wagner was shot and killed at the scene.

Johnston was taken into custody and charged with the murder. He is currently in the Harris County Jail awaiting trial.
