Police say it started with an argument in the reception hall of Cool Runnings Bar and Grill on West Bellfort overnight. The fight spilled into the parking lot, and someone shot the victim.
The wounded man was driven away in a private vehicle and turned up hours later at a hospital in Sugar Land, where he died.
A woman who was hit in the arm by a stray bullet went to a different hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are still searching for the shooter.
