Arian Foster files defamation suit against accuser

HOUSTON

Texans running back Arian Foster on Tuesday filed a countersuit against Brittany Norwood for defamation. In his suit, Foster claims Norwood's accusations are "utterly false and designed to impugn the character and reputation of A.I.F. with the intent to extort monies."

This case started last week when Norwood filed a lawsuit against Foster saying he and his brother caused her emotional distress by pressuring her to abort her baby. But in audiotapes released by Foster's attorney, Norwood could be heard saying "I never once said that you told me to get an abortion."

Norwood's attorney responded to the audiotapes by releasing text messages he claims where shared between his client and Foster. In those text messages, Foster allegedly writes "We did this together, and never wanted to. Because of the situation we're in. We can't bring life into the world under these circumstances."

Foster is married with two children.

During a court hearing Tuesday afternoon, a judge issued a gag order, prohibiting both sides from speaking publicly about the case.

Today on Eyewitness News Live at Five, hear Brittany's side of the story and how her lawyer says Foster and his brother have "teamed up" against the alleged mother of Foster's baby, who says she didn't know he was married.
