Boy struck, killed by suspected drunk driver in southwest Houston

HOUSTON

The crash happened around 8pm on South Post Oak near South Main.

Investigators said the victim was between 12 and 14 years old, and he was walking on the road when he was hit.

"We believe he was walking in the roadway, but this bridge is not meant for any pedestrian traffic," Houston Police Department Sgt. F.J. Briones said.

The boy died at the scene. A witness tell us he was a child with special needs.

The driver did stop, but authorities said he showed signs of intoxication.

Investigators said the district attorney's office will decide on possible charges.
