Deputy accused of sexually propositioning woman he arrested

HOUSTON

A Brazoria County mom asks we conceal her identity to protect her family. She's been working to get her 24-year-old daughter out of jail.

"I told her to be strong, that I'm right there for her," she said.

The daughter told her mother after being arrested on a public intoxication charge earlier this week, she was propositioned by a Brazoria County Sheriff's deputy while being transferred from Alvin to Angleton, and he gave her money to bond out.

"My heart just dropped, that's my daughter," the mother said. "An officer propositioned to ask to do favors for money, when you're supposed to be working."

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says the allegation was made against the deputy. A statement was taken and they've launched an internal affairs investigation but say they will not release the name of the deputy because it is only an accusation at this point.

The mother of the woman making the claims says she is concerned for her daughter.

"She feels very violated," the mother told Eyewitness News. "She feels she is in trouble for everything that has happened."

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says this is an active investigation that just got underway.
