NTSB releases preliminary report on Southwest Fresno plane crash

FRESNO, Calif.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board cite multiple witness accounts who reported seeing the plane land on the runway at Chandler Airport before it took off again.

It then picked up speed turned around a number of times and clipped a tree before crashing into the front yard of a Southwest Fresno home.

The impact killed Tim Farmer of Tehachapi and his great nephew Finn Thompson. The report does not release a cause of the accident. Federal investigators said that may not be determined for at least six months.
