It was a popular movie house for decades. Now city leaders in Baytown are discussing the future of that rundown theater.

The old Brunson Theater on West Texas Avenue has been deteriorating for many years.

Council members are planning to discuss possible ways to redevelop the 65-year-old art deco theater. The city has already received two formal proposals for the space.

A local artist wants to turn it into a gallery. A Hollywood casting director suggests turning the theater into a performing arts venue.
