Pasadena police desperately want to speak with a woman seen in surveillance video. They believe she may know something about Leal, who's been missing since New Year's Eve.
Pasadena police spokesperson Vance Mitchell said, "We'd very much like to talk with that lady and find out what she knows about his last location."
Family members tell Eyewitness News Leal mysteriously disappeared as they were waiting for him to bring items home for a dinner celebration. Leal never showed up and his relatives haven't been able to reach him by phone.
"This is the worst part, just sitting here and not knowing what's going on," his sister-in-law, Mayra Salazar, said. "It's just a bad feeling not knowing where he's at, if he's suffering."
"The fact is, his debit card, I think, has been used at several locations around the Houston area," Mitchell said.
Investigators say that's how the unidentified woman comes into play. Police say she's been seen on surveillance video using Leal's credit and debit cards. Family members say Leal drives a red 2002 Ford Explorer Sports Trac and that truck is also missing.
Mitchell said, "We'd appreciate any help we can get identifying who may be in that vehicle or where it may be."
Police say the woman they want to talk to does have some distinguishing features, including what appears to be a large tattoo covering the left side of her neck and shoulder. The woman was also last seen driving a maroon SUV.
"If it was my husband, I would want the help. The children need their dad. He's a good dad, hurts me like them," neighbor Alice Pena said.
Leal drives a red 2002 Ford Explorer Sports Trac like this. It is also missing and so is any kind of happy new year.
Right now police are asking anyone who can identify the woman in that video or anyone with information about Jesus Leal to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221 or call Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500.
