Man wanted for indecency with child at Space Center Houston

HOUSTON

A six-year-old girl was visiting NASA Space Center Houston located at 1601 Nasa Parkway on November 16. She was in the Angry Birds play area at about 3:30pm when a man knelt next to her and touched her inappropriately.

"What he did, I'm sure he's done it in the past and will do it again," said HPD Officer E. Hanson with the juvenile division. "It's a very public place. NASA Space Center is a huge facility that everybody uses for family get-togethers. It's in everybody's best interest that we find out who he is and get him identified."

Police say surveillance video in the facility was in use at the time, but didn't capture the suspect or the act in progress. There were no cameras in the exhibit in question, and the nearby security guard didn't see anything.

Parents are calling for tighter security, and Space Center Houston officials say new cameras and security enhancements are on the way.

The suspect is described only as a white male, with a slight belly, sandy blond or light brown hair and clean shaven. He was accompanied by a male toddler.

Anyone with information in this case of indecency with a child or who recognizes the man is urged to contact the HPD Juvenile Division at 713-731-5335 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
