Day-after-Christmas shoppers hit the stores

HOUSTON

Christmas may be over but for the Chilivetis family, but their holiday tradition continued Thursday at the Target near the Medical Center.

"We come to this Target the morning after Christmas every year," said Sherri Chilivetis.

"It's always really fun to come after Christmas and get all the fun lights and the different decorations that you didn't have this year and could use for next year," added Lisa Chilivetis.

Next year's Christmas was clearly on their minds, but we found other folks still working on getting this Christmas right.

"We bought a tablet and the cover didn't fit specifically, so we're going to bring it back and hopefully we can get the right cover for it," said shopper Marlon Nation.

Good news for them. The return line at the Best Buy in Meyerland wasn't too bad. And neither were the crowds.

"The crowds before and the crowds after are significantly smaller so it's kind of peace of mind you can walk through here and take your time without being hassled and rustled and stuff like that," said Nation. "So it's a good thing for us."

There will be no returns for Carrie Chaffin this year.

"Santa made a home run," she said. "He got me exactly what I wanted."

But as for the after-Christmas specials, she was hoping to get in on a new TV.

"The prices are compatible to what you are finding on the Internet, but they aren't like the deep discounts we were hoping to see," said Chaffin.
