There's surveillance video of a man trying to steal her purse. It happened in the parking lot of a store off the North Freeway and West Road. The man gets out of a black Monte Carlo, tries to grab the woman's purse but it's attached to a strap on her shopping cart. The woman fights back.
The purse strap breaks and the man grabs it, gets back in the car and takes off. He dropped a gun as he got away.
Investigators describe him as a large black man with gold teeth and dreadlocks.
