Police: 2 people killed after Utah rock slide

A rock slide in Utah has reportedly destroyed a home in the town of Rockville, killing two people.

The Spectrum of St. George reports that at least a half-dozen large boulders fell from a cliff behind the house, destroying it and a garage early Thursday evening.

Springdale Police Chief Kurt Wright tells The Spectrum that two people were found after a search of the house, but police did not know whether they lived there.

Wright told the newspaper that the site was "unstable" and that crews would return to the scene this morning to recover the bodies.

The police chief said snow and ice had built up on the cliff and between boulders.
