The fire broke out just before 1am at a home on Peach Springs near Saddle Rock.
The Houston Fire Department said the couple was asleep when the fire started in their bedroom. They smelled the smoke and managed to make it outside just as firefighters were arriving.
And crews arrived just in time, since the woman's hair was ablaze.
"[Firefighters] assisted them exiting the home," HFD Capt. Terry Colburn said. "She had minor damage to her hair."
Officials said the woman was not seriously hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
