Thousands lose power in Texas after wintry storms

DALLAS, TX

Dallas-based Oncor on Tuesday reported nearly 3,300 outages, mainly in West Texas in the Midland-Odessa area.

Oncor says severe weather this week in northern and western parts of Texas cut power to more than 30,000 customers. Utility officials say customers in remote and outlying areas might not have their electricity restored until late Wednesday.

AEP Texas had about 2,900 homes and businesses without electricity overnight, with the outages concentrated in the Marfa, Alpine and Fort Davis areas.
