This Saturday over at the Houston Humane Society Santa is making a special appearance for all the four legged members of your family. The "free pet photos with Santa" event will be from 11am to 2pm.
Over at Hermann Square at City Hall Downtown, experience a kalediscope of color with the Viacolori Chalk Art Festival. Visitors can experience the street painting process up and there will also be more than 200 street painters, 20 live bands and plenty of family-friendly activities.
Christmas is in the air over at the Wortham Theater so mark your calendar for next Wednesday, November 27 for the annual Wortham Theatre Center tree lighting ceremony. Costumed characters from the Houston Ballet's Nutcracker will be on hand for greetings and photos with the public. The event is from 11am to 1pm.
Thursday head over to Uptown Park on post oak for the "28th annual Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting Celebration". Festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with holiday music. The show will have live followed by the countdown to illuminate half a million twinkling lights on 80 trees along post oak boulevard plus surrounding uptown area building tops. The spectacular fireworks extravaganza begins at 7 p.m.
