Thieves steal valuable items from Houston antique store

Police are looking for suspects who broke into a local antique shop and stole thousands of dollars' worth of items.

The owner of Blue Moon Antiques on Ella Boulevard in Garden Oaks said someone pried open the shop's front door early Thursday and stole between $10,000 and $15,000 in inventory.

Owner Alexander Leach said they did not just take jewelry, but expensive potteries and crystals as well.

Leach believes the thieves did their research and selected only the items they knew were expensive.

In 22 years of business, this is his first time his business was burglarized.

"It was not your regular hit and run," Leach said. "These people came in and cased us, and they really hit us hard."

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the police.
