Pasadena house fire injures teen brothers

PASADENA, TX

The fire erupted at a home in the 1100 block of Austin Street. Pasadena Fire Marshal David Brannon says they got the call just before 7 p.m. The Austin Street home was engulfed when they arrived. One brother was flown to the hospital the other went by ground.

Two teenage brothers were inside the house at the time of the fire. The older brother, a 17- or 18-year-old, exited the house and then realized that his younger brother, a 12- or 13-year-old, was still inside. That's when firefighters rushed in and saved the younger boy.

The younger brother was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital and the other was transported to a hospital by ground. Their conditions were not immediately available.

"Basically, the house was heavily involved. Again, we're still in there, currently investigating the fire so we really don't have an idea exactly what caused the fire at this time," Brannon said.
