Reward offered in southwest Harris County murder case

HOUSTON

The man they're looking for is Rashad Romelis Tate, who also goes by 'Shotti/Shotta Shotgun.' He's wanted in the February 2013 murder of a man in southwest Harris County.

Investigators say it was on February 19 that Tate and two accomplices went to a home in the 13200 block of Benford Drive to see a man named Carlos Martin. They say it was there that Tate either caused or participated in Martin's violent stabbing death.

Investigators say Tate managed to elude authorities with the help of relatives and friends in Louisiana and Houston. He's believed to be staying in either Kenner, Louisiana, or New Orleans' Seventh Ward.

Rashad Tate is a black male, approximately 5 feet 4 inches and weighs around 125 pounds. He's known to wear shoulder-length dreadlocks but it is likely that he has cut his hair similar to the attached photograph. Tate often wears ball caps.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should immediately contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (713-222-8477) or send a tip via the HCSO's free mobile phone app iWatchHarrisCounty.

Crime Stoppers of Houston will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of any felony suspects. All callers will remain anonymous.
