A man is now under evaluation at a local hospital after triggering a three hour long SWAT standoff in Huffman.

It started around 8pm at the man's home on Cheatham near Calvin, after police received a call about a person suffering a mental crisis. Investigators say the SWAT team was called out because the man did have weapons inside of his home.

"He was not making any threats towards us but he was stating that he was seeing shadows inside of his residence and that he was going to shoot the shadows," said Sgt. A. Rodriguez with the Houston Police Department.

The man surrendered peacefully a few hours later. He was alone inside of the house. No word yet on what charges, if any, he may face.
