Man accused of running estranged wife off of the road in east Harris County

HOUSTON

Authorities said 40-year-old Michael Pentecost was chasing his estranged wife Sunday before the crash in east Harris County. She was a passenger in a Honda Accord.

Deputies said Pentecost tried several times to ram the vehicle and, at one point, was able to bump the car in the rear. The collision sent the Honda spinning into a ditch in the 1700 block of South Main Street in east Harris County.

Pentecost's wife, 33, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with lacerations on her head and a broken left arm, officials said. The male driver of the Honda suffered bruises and cuts and was transported by ambulance to LBJ Hospital.

Pentecost was charged with aggravated assault on a family member and arrested at the scene.
