Man accused of threatening wife with assault rifle arrested after standoff with HCSO

HOUSTON

It all started just after midnight at a home in the 5200 block of Beaverbend Drive.

According to authorities, the 31-year-old suspect was arguing with his wife when he threatened to shoot her with an AR-15. The woman was able to run away from the home, but she left her two-year-old child inside.

Deputies arrived and asked the suspect to come outside, but he reportedly refused to talk with them. That's when deputies called in the HCSO High Risk Operations Unit, which is their SWAT team.

After HROU showed up, the man finally made contact with deputies and he exited the home unarmed. He is charged with assault on a family member.

The wife and child were not injured.
