Back on January 23, witnesses reported seeing Susan P. Harper, 53, on fire and running near vehicles in the parking lot at 4700 Robertson. The witnesses stopped and helped put out the flames on her body and called for police and fire department personnel.
Police investigators later learned Harper was a victim of domestic violence. In July, authorities filed a charge of aggravated assault of a family member against her husband, Darryl Wayne Tindol, 47.
Medical personnel at Memorial Hermann Hospital say Harper died on Monday from the injuries she suffered nine months earlier.
Charges have been upgraded against Tindol. He's now facing a murder charge in the death of his wife.
