It happened on the 610 Loop near the Northwest Freeway. A Ford SUV was crushed by what is believed to have been a wheel from an 18-wheeler. The driver was hurt and taken to the hospital.
Six other vehicles were either hit by debris or crashed into each other while trying to avoid hitting the debris.
"I stopped so I could take a look at my car and see the damages," said accident victim Chris Le. "That's when I realized there was a whole lot of cars behind me that got hit by the tire."
Police believe the debris came from an 18-wheeler and that the trucker was most likely unaware that his tire blew and caused all this damage.
