Teens arrested after alleged gun sale at Pearland High School

PEARLAND, TX

It happened Friday morning. Just after 9am, Pearland police were notified of an incident involving a gun at school.

According to police, 17-year-old student Jesus Abrego brought a handgun to the school with the intent to sell the gun to another student -- identified as Nathan Monsibais, also 17.

Investigators said the exchange occurred between the students during first period. The handgun was recovered from Monsibais and found to be unloaded.

The gun sale was an isolated incident occurring between two students. Officials say there was no threat to the campus or any other student

Both students were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm on school property, a third-degree felony.

The investigation is ongoing.
