The officer had pulled over on Tidwell near Parkhurst and put his lights on to protect another car with a flat tire.
A truck slammed into the officer's cruiser, pushing it into the car with the flat. The officer was in the cruiser at the time and was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the truck was also taken to the hospital. His blood alcohol level will be tested.
