A man leaving a late night movie showing last night was shot by an armed robber in west Houston.

It happened around 2am outside the AMC 30 off of Dunvale near Westheimer.

Police say a man was in the parking lot, walking from the AMC to the Walmart, when another man pulled up in an SUV and asked for his wallet and cell phone.

The victim started running, but the other man pulled a gun and shot at him as he tried to get away back to movie theater.

"One shot had hit his left forearm and there is entry and exit wound," said Sgt A. Smith with the Houston Police Department.

The victim is expected to be OK.

Police say the suspect got away in a dark green rusty SUV.
