A car fire inside the mall's garage prompted authorities to shut down both directions of Westheimer at McCue around 7pm.
Fire trucks and emergency vehicles blocking the road as firefighters worked to put out the flames.
According to The Galleria, this was a single car that took the brunt of the damage. A spokesperson for the mall says the fire does appear to be accidental.
That burned car was towed away once the fire was put out.
Down in the garage itself, we didn't see any sign of damage, just some standing water.
