Reward for Most Wanted sex offender increased to $13,000 in October

HOUSTON

Crime Stoppers says the reward for information leading to Charles Leon Carr's capture has just been increased to $13,000 for the month of October.

In 1975, Car was sentenced to 99 years in prison for the violent sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Abilene. He was released from prison in 2008 and authorities say he disappeared the following year. Carr is now on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list and is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for probation violation and by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for parole violation.

Carr's last known residence was in Austin, and he has ties to El Paso. He could be working in air conditioning repair, refrigerator repair, machine operation, data entry or as a laborer. His criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, transportation of unlawful aliens and theft.

Carr is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. His tattoos include a skull on his outside upper right arm and skull/dagger/roses on his outside upper left arm. He also has an operation scar on the inside of his right knee and a cut scar inside his right hand.
