According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Donald Miles on Thursday was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the murder of 43-year-old Robert Holley and 25-year-old William Migues.
On the evening of September 12, 1990, Holley and Migues were robbed and murdered in the 4300 block of Spring Cypress Road. Their bodies were buried in a shallow grave in the 800 block of Century Plaza Drive. Then February 27 the following year, someone discovered their remains while searching through discarded auto parts in the area.
The case went unsolved after the initial investigation. Then in 2011, the Harris County Sheriff's Office's Cold Case Unit reopened the investigation and identified Miles as the prime suspect in the case. He was charged with capital murder.
