A mother is charged with injury to a child after allegedly slamming her son into a glass door at a Conroe fast food restaurant.

Police were called to a Jack in the Box in the 1400 block of North Loop 336 West around 9:35pm Saturday. When officers arrived, witnesses told them a woman had grabbed her eight-year-old child, slamming him into the glass door of the business and then onto the ground.

The suspect was gone by the time police got to the scene, but she was soon spotted entering a nearby Walmart with her son.

Officers caught up with the woman -- identified as Wendy Hammond, 30 -- and arrested her.

According to police, the boy had red marks on his face and arm which were consistent with witness accounts.
