Navy Yard gunman seen as polite visitor to temples

DALLAS, TX Susan Walker says she became friendly with Aaron Alexis while attending the Wat Busaya Buddhist temple in the Fort Worth suburb of White Settlement. He visited the temple until a year ago. Walker says, "He would help us out with whatever we needed," such as by taking out the trash or doing other errands.

She described him as "quiet" and "gentle," and said he never displayed anger.

"We don't believe it," she said of Monday's shootings that left 13 dead, including Alexis.

A monk at another temple near Fort Worth said Alexis would visit alone, speak politely to people, and walk about the campus outside.
