Houston man accused of fatally shooting uncle

HOUSTON

Donel Edward Huntsberry, 47, is charged with murder. According to court documents, Huntsberry was arguing with his uncle, identified as Kevin Jackson, in a home in the 4200 block of Madden Lane in southeast Houston between 8:30pm and 8:45pm on September 9.

At some point, witnesses who were in the room told police they heard Huntsberry say, "I told you about messing with my family," then pull out a gun and shoot Jackson. Huntsberry's mother, with whom he shares a home, heard the shooting and when she asked her son what happened, he reportedly told her that Jackson punched him.

Huntsberry reportedly left the house after the shooting. Jackson was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Huntsberry was arrested and is now in custody. No bond has been set in his case.
