A man is going to face a list of charges after he reportedly refused to come out of a north Houston apartment.

The incident took place at an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Gulf Bank. According to police, at about 7am a woman flagged down an Aldine ISD police officer, claiming she needed help. The woman said she managed to escape an apartment where she and another woman had been with an armed man.

The Aldine ISD officer called for assistance from the Houston Police Department, and a SWAT team was brought to the scene.

When officers arrived, the armed man and the second woman were still inside the apartment. The woman was eventually able to get out.

The man remained inside for some time, but finally surrendered to police around 10:30am. Police say he is expected to face a number of charges, including aggravated assault, kidnapping, robbery and aggravated assault to a peace officer.
