Tropical wave being watched in SW Gulf of Mexico

HOUSTON

A tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and storms in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, and the National Hurricane Center gives it a 30 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm Humberto before it moves over land.

If anything does develop, it would most likely track into Mexico. Some of the moisture associated with this tropical wave will start blowing into Texas tonight, but most, if not all, of the moisture will stay south of Houston.

The Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to fly into the disturbed weather this afternoon, and we'll let you know what they discover.
