Motorcyclist killed in Montgomery County crash

HOUSTON

It happened around 6:45pm. Officials said the motorcyclist was westbound on Highway 242 approaching a red light at Lexington when he realized he couldn't stop in time for the light. Instead, he rapidly accelerated his motorcycle to clear the intersection, investigators said.

When the motorcycle accelerated, it struck a Lincoln Town Car on its passenger side. The car was occupied by an elderly female, officials said.

When the vehicles collided, the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and died from his injuries. Officers tell us their initial investigation indicated he may have been intoxicated.

The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital. At last check, she was stable.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating this accident.
